The new Musical Fidelity 550K Supercharger monoblock power amplifier increases the power of any 50-watt-plus amplifier to over 550 watts RMS.
Why would you want to do that? Because most hi-fi amplifiers do not have nearly enough power to deliver musical realism. Until now, you either had to put up with low-powered amps with inaccurate musical reproduction, or you would have to fork out huge amounts of money for a physically massive amplifier to get that concert hall magic in their living room
