m-am mai documentat intre timp, se pare ca e primul sub $1000 la vremea lui. tot nu stiu daca merita sau nu....

Information on the third Sony Super Audio CD player, the SCD-XB9 (photograph), mentioned here on May 18th (see below), may be found here (Flash animation player plug-in required). The window which opens at the upper left of your screen gives some information, while one of the news items available through the main page ("Sony announces third SACD player") gives details. The SCD-XB9 will use the same DSD decoder as the SCD-1 and the SCD-777ES. The SCD-XB9 will include their variable digital filter for playing regular CDs and uses a "twin power supply transformer" to reduce interference from digital noise by separating circuits for analog and digital stages.

akaiofil, ce se scrie pe net e una, ce se aude din tracota e alta. De la o anumita suma de bani in sus cred ca ar trebui intai sa asculti trancota si apoi sa platesti. Altfel e doar un loz in plic costisitor.
Personal am auzit 2 modele mai noi decat SCD-1 si scumpe pe lista Sony. Ambele sunau cumplit de prost, mai ales pe SACD.
Din ce stiu, nu ca l-as fi probat, SCD-1 a fost culmea din ce a fabricat vreodata SONY in materie de SACD-player. Dar se stie, de catre cine stie, SONY ca orice alt gigant prezinta nivele de calitate FOARTE diferite functie de pret si clasa. De obicei atentia este numai pe modelul top, restul avand multe compromisuri.
Despre SCD-1 vei gasi tone de referiri pe net, eu din ce am discutat cu tipi care l-au avut (si care NU sunt conationali) se pare ca din punct de vedere high-end entry-level (daca se poate spune) ar merita folosit ca transport cu un DAC destept, dar numai daca are laserul intreg. Pe decodorul propriu este insa depasit dar depinde la ce clasa te referi. In comparatie cu trancotele chinezofile cu ifose audiofile din zona de pret pana in 1000 euro, e mai bun.

Si sa nu uitam, toate playerele optice sunt CONSUMABILE.
