This is the latest album from the superb Latvian mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca -- a peaceful and very personal selection of music from her homeland, in which she is ably supported by the renowned Latvian Radio Choir . . . Garanca has a creamy, rich voice which imbues every phrase with feeling and subtlety. The blending of traditional Latvian spiritual music with opera works well and this album should reinforce her position as one of today's outstanding voices and performers.

Saptamana viitoare, in data de 29 septembrie, soprana franceza Patricia Petibon
isi lanseaza, tot la Deutsche Grammophon, noul album intitulat "La Belle Excentrique"
, avand-o ca invitata pe Susan Manoff. Selectia include lucrari de Erik Satie, Gabriel Faure, Francis Poulenc, Leo Ferre si altii.
La Belle Excentrique! Patricia Petibon returns with a new album released this September/October. On this album she explores the fascinating world of French art song and presents all-time favourites by Satie, Fauré, Poulenc, Reynaldo Hahn, Manuel Rosenthal, as well as popular hits by Léo Ferré.
Pe 13 octombrie, revine in forta cunoscuta si mult-apreciata Cecilia Bartoli
, cu un proiect interesant, intitulat "St. Petersburg"
, lansat la Decca, ce exploreaza frumusetea muzicii baroce din perioada Rusiei Tariste, cu lucrari interpretate in acei ani la curtea celor trei Tarine: Anna, Elizabeta si Ekaterina cea Mare.
For the very first time Cecilia Bartoli explores the Baroque musical treasures of Tsarist Russia with music from the court of three 18th century Tsaristas: Anna, Elizabeth and Catherine the Great. With music written by Italian and German composers working for the Russian court, this album sheds new light on an incredible and momentous time for Russia, shaping its politics and culture towards the enlightened West.
Mostly sung in Italian, the album also offers the first opportunity to hear Bartoli sing in Russian. The music has been intricately researched by Cecilia herself, unlocking the archives of St Petersburg’s Mariinsky Library to uncover music lost for over 200 years. The new recording reunites Bartoli with Baroque specialists Diego Fasolis & I Barocchisti.
Iar pe 17 noiembrie, Decca lanseaza inca un titlu ("Home Sweet Home"
), apartinand frumoasei mezzo-soprane galeze Katherine Jenkins
"Katherine Jenkins, the nation’s sweetheart, returns to her classical roots celebrating the music that launched her international career. Ten years ago, Katherine was introduced to the world as the school teacher from Neath whose voice had landed her a deal with the world's biggest recording company. The new album Home featured duets with Alfie Boe (Barcelona), and David Garrett."
Dintre piesele alese pentru interpretare, gasim surprize precum "Barcelona" si "We Are The Champions" (Queen&Freddie Mercury), "Sanctus"(Elgar's Nimrod), "Segreti"(One Republic's Secrets), "Anthem" (din musicalul 'Chess') sau "Remember" (Bach's Goldberg Variations).
